The fourth edition of the Lamborghini World Final to be held in Valencia

November,15 2016  From December 1-4, the circuit “Ricardo Tormo” in Valencia will host the fourth edition of the Lamborghini World Final. After three years, the “highlight“ event of the season for all the protagonists of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo will be back in Europe.

Twelve races (600 minutes of adrenaline), including those of the last round of the three continental series Europe, Asia and North America, nearly eight hours of track activities between qualifying and free practice sessions: these numbers confirm an announced success, in the wake of the ever growing one encountered at Sebring (Florida, USA) in 2015 and in Sepang (Malaysia) and Vallelunga (Italy) in the previous two years.

On the over four kilometers of the Iberian circuit, the atmosphere will be that of an international challenge, in which about sixty drivers and the teams habitually engaged in the various one-make series for the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo, the real “queen” of this long weekend, will compete. This challenge will crown the winners of the four classes PRO, PRO-AM, AM and Lamborghini Cup; the latter two will be grouped on a single grid.

What is shaping up in Spain is therefore a “no stop” show with some side events such as the Lamborghini Air Show, which will take place during the last two days and will keep everyone looking up at the sky. But the Valencia program will really come alive from Thursday, with the last round of the three calendars of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe, Asia and Nord America, after which the last titles at stake will be awarded.

LAMBORGHINI BLANCPAIN SUPER TROFEO EUROPE

Everything is still to be decided in the European series, with four potential winners in the PRO class. Ahead of everyone is the young Dane Dennis Lind (five victories with Raton Racing); six points behind him comes the Latvian of Artline Team Georgia, Harald Schlegelmilch, who is only 4 points ahead of the Italian Vito Postiglione (Imperiale Racing) and 6 points over the nineteen-year-old Martin Kodric, who won his first race at the Nürburgring with the colors of Bonaldi Motorsport. Same team for the pairing formed by the Swiss Adrian Amstutz and the Finn Patrick Kujala (2015 winner of the PRO title and of the World Final at Sebring), who will try and defend their lead in the PRO-AM from the Dutchman Rik Breukers, aged 18, “new entry” in the Young Drivers Program of Lamborghini Squadra Corse and racing for the team GDL Racing. Eight are the crews still in contention in the AM class with the Israeli Amir Krenzia (Vincenzo Sospiri Racing) in the lead with the Nigerian Shahin Nouri (Leipert Motorsport) and the duo of GT3 Poland formed by Andrej Lewandowski and Teodor Myszkowski, with a gap of three and five points respectively. Lastly, in the Lamborghini Cup, there is an “internal fight” in the team Van der Horst Motorsport, with the two Dutch drivers Gerard Van der Horst and William Van Deyzen, who are separated by a single point, and the Englishman Tim Richards (M-Tech), who is lying in wait.

LAMBORGHINI BLANCPAIN SUPER TROFEO ASIA

Now in its fifth year, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Asia has already proclaimed as its overall winners the Japanese Toshiyuki Ochiai and the Malaysian Afiq Yazid (last year’s PRO champion) with a race in advance, during the penultimate round at Fuji. Together, the two drivers have scored eight wins and tree double victories in a row. Everything has been decided also in the Lamborghini Cup, which has already crowned the Thai Supachai Weeraborwornpong as a champion. Among the PRO-AM, there will be a challenge between the leading crew formed by Armaan Ebrahim and Dilantha Malagamuwa and the Italian-Malaysian duo composed by Max Wiser (2013 and 2014 champion) and Low Zen, who are separated by 16 points. In the AM, instead, there is the Indonesian Andrew Haryanto in the leading position, with the crew formed by the Canadian Samson Chan and the Taiwanese George Chou still in play, just like the driver from Hong Kong, Vincent Wong.

LAMBORGHINI BLANCPAIN SUPER TROFEO NORTH AMERICA

A second place and a win at Laguna Seca, a double victory at Watkins Glen, another second place and a success at Road America, two wins in Virginia and two second places in Austin: this is the path that enabled the Japanese of Cincinnati, Shinya Michimi, to be crowned as a PRO champion and his team, Prestige Performance, to receive the Team title in the North American Series, with a race in advance. The situation in the PRO-AM is still pending and in Valencia, the pairing formed by Craig Duerson and Trent Hindman, with the colors of Prestige Performance, will try and defend their lead against Brandon Gdovic (DAC Motorsports), who is 10 points behind them. The ending is still uncertain also in the AM class, in which the Canadian Damon Ockey (US RaceTronics) is 13 points ahead of  Luis Rodriguez Jr. (Change Racing). With a total of nine victories, the driver of DXDT Racing, Ross Chouest, is instead the champion in the Lamborghini Cup.

The event schedule of Valencia will begin Thursday, December 1, with free practice and qualifying sessions. On Friday will begin instead the races, each lasting 50 minutes and with rolling start. The first on track will be the protagonists of Asia and North America series, which will share the grid. Race 1 will start at 8:50 am and precedes the rounds of Europe for AM / Lamborghini Cup classes (10:20) and PRO / PRO-AM classes (11:50). Race 2 of Asia and North America will start at 13.35 hours; followed by European AM / Lamborghini Cup classes (15.00) and PRO / PRO-AM classes (16:25). On Saturday morning there will be the qualifying sessions of the World Final, then Race 1 of the AM / Lamborghini Cup classes (12:15), PRO-AM (14:15) and PRO (15:55). On Sunday, Race 2 of AM / Lamborghini Cup classes will start at 9.30 am and will precede PRO-AM (11:30) and PRO (14.05).
